I started making knives in 1997, and right from the start my aim was to make high-end folding knives. I am the first South African to make the following:

​

• A five blade 

• A four blade

• A splitback whittler

• A lockback whittler

• Lobster pattern

• A folder with a pair of scissors

• A sommelier's folder incorporating a corkscrew

​

However, I do not only make knives. Much of my time is taken up by making tools, gardening, creating sculpture, pottery, drawing, cabinet making, cooking, spending time with our two schnauzers, and study.
